Action Research is about change. Our goal is to blend traditional marketing activities with effective strategies of behavior change to promote clean, healthy, and sustainable communities. To this end, Action Research is a national leader in social marketing (and Community-Based Social Marketing), and we specialize in the development of environmental programs such as litter prevention, watershed protection, recycling, conservation, and natural resource preservation. Action Research utilizes state-of-the art survey and research methodology to inform the development of effective environmental, health, and transit programs.

- Marketing Research: Central to the mission of the company is the ability to generate empirical data about a target population, and then to incorporate the findings from this research into effective marketing campaigns. We pride ourselves on utilizing the latest methodologies, statistical analyses, and data collection technologies. The company is staffed to provide Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) using Random Digit Dialing (RDD) sampling, intercept and field interviews, focus groups, mail, and Internet surveys.
- Community Outreach Campaigns: Action Research is a national leader in Community-Based Social Marketing. From education and awareness to behavior change, our proven strategy can reach nearly any target audience and motivate people to take action.
- Training: Action Research offers a package of workshops and training activities for a variety of organizational needs. The workshops provide hands-on instruction in basic principles of social marketing, developing effective outreach materials, and program development. Over the past five years, the staff members at Action Research have conducted more than 40 training sessions and presentations to private, state, and federal organizations.
- Consulting and Strategic Guidance: Action Research offers on-going support and consulting for companies and organizations conducting marketing and outreach campaigns. Our staff is familiar with a range of media from brochures and PSAs to community-level grassroots campaigns.
